This Privacy Policy explains how ZapAI – Smartest AI Assistant (“ZapAI”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our Android application and related services. By installing or using ZapAI, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Who we are
ZapAI is provided by Applyset Media Private Limited (“Applyset”), based in Surat, India. We operate the ZapAI mobile application, manage its core functionality, route your requests to selected AI model providers, and provide customer support.

Information we collect
ZapAI does not require you to create an account or sign in to use its core features. However, the App and its integrated third-party services process certain information as described below.
2.1 Usage and device data
When you use ZapAI, we automatically collect limited technical data required to operate and improve the App, including:
- Device information (such as device model, operating system version, language, time zone, and app version)
- Log data (such as IP address, timestamps, feature usage, error logs, and performance metrics)
- Identifiers such as advertising ID, installation ID, or similar app instance identifiers used for analytics, attribution, and ad serving (where applicable)
Our analytics and advertising partners may use device identifiers and similar technologies to measure usage trends and ad performance.
2.2 Content you provide
To deliver AI-powered features, ZapAI processes content that you choose to submit, including:
- Chat messages, prompts, and questions
- Uploaded files such as PDFs, documents, and images
- Photos selected from your device for image generation, face swap, or visual analysis
- Voice inputs when you choose to speak to the app
- Ratings, flags, or reports you submit about AI-generated responses
This content is sent securely to the AI model provider you select (for example OpenAI, Google/Gemini, Mistral, DeepSeek, or other integrated APIs) so they can generate responses.
2.3 Camera access
ZapAI may request access to your device camera (android.permission.CAMERA) only when you choose to use camera-based features, such as:
- Capturing photos for AI image analysis or generation
- Face swap or similar image-editing features
- Uploading images directly from the camera for AI processing
ZapAI does not access your camera in the background, and camera access is used only at your request and for the specific feature you activate.
2.4 Microphone and audio access
ZapAI may request access to your device microphone (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO) only when you choose to use voice-based features, such as:
- Voice input for chatting with AI
- Speech-to-text functionality
- Conversational or voice-enabled assistants
Audio recordings are processed only to convert speech into text or generate AI responses. ZapAI does not record audio continuously or without your interaction.
2.5 Media and storage access
ZapAI may request access to media and storage permissions, including:
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGESandroid.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE(on older Android versions)
These permissions are used only to allow you to select images or files from your device for features such as:
- Uploading PDFs or documents for summarization and Q&A
- Selecting images for image generation, editing, or face swap
- Sharing existing media with AI tools
ZapAI does not scan your entire storage or access files without your explicit action.
2.6 Payment and subscription information
If you purchase ZapAI Pro or other paid features, transactions are processed by Google Play or another authorized payment provider. ZapAI does not receive or store your full payment card details.
We receive limited transaction information (such as product ID, purchase token, and purchase status) solely to unlock and manage paid features on your device.
2.7 Support communications
If you contact us for support (for example via email or in-app feedback), we collect the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, message content, and any screenshots or logs you submit. This information is used only to respond to your request and resolve issues.
How we use information
We use collected information to:
- Operate ZapAI and provide its features, including chat, AI assistants, image tools, voice input, and document processing
- Route your prompts, images, audio, and files to selected AI providers and return their responses
- Remember device-level preferences such as language, theme (light/dark), selected AI model, and notification settings
- Monitor and improve performance, reliability, usability, and security
- Display ads (where applicable) and measure ad effectiveness
- Respond to support requests and user feedback
- Detect, prevent, and address misuse, abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms
We do not sell your personal data.
AI providers and third-party services
4.1 AI model providers
When you use ZapAI, your content is sent to the AI provider you select, which may include:
- OpenAI
- Google / Gemini
- Mistral
- DeepSeek
- Other AI APIs added in the future
These providers process your content under their own privacy policies. Where supported, we configure APIs to limit data retention and disable training on your content.
4.2 Analytics and crash reporting
ZapAI uses analytics and crash-reporting tools (such as Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) to understand usage patterns and diagnose technical issues. These tools collect non-personal usage and device data.
4.3 Advertising partners
If you use the free, ad-supported version of ZapAI, advertising partners (such as Google AdMob) may collect advertising identifiers, device information, and limited usage data to serve and measure ads, subject to your consent and applicable law.
Storage, retention, and security
- Chats and AI responses may be stored temporarily to support chat history features
- Uploaded files and images may be cached briefly for processing and then deleted
- Audio recordings are processed in real time and not stored long-term
- Logs and analytics data are retained only as long as necessary for operational purposes
All data is transmitted using secure encryption (HTTPS/TLS). No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Your choices and controls
You can:
- Delete chats from within the App
- Control permissions (camera, microphone, storage) through Android system settings
- Manage ad personalization through your device settings
- Change app preferences such as language, theme, and AI model
- Contact us to request deletion of support communications where legally permitted
AI-generated content and safety
ZapAI uses generative AI, which may occasionally produce incorrect or inappropriate output. To reduce risk:
- We apply moderation filters to block clearly harmful content
- We provide tools to report problematic responses
- ZapAI does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice
Children’s privacy
ZapAI is intended for users aged 13 and older (or the applicable age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age.
International data transfers
Your data may be processed in India and other countries where our service providers operate. We apply appropriate safeguards where required by law.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will reflect changes. Continued use of ZapAI means acceptance of the updated policy.
